The application industry of FRP

FRP is a rapidly developing composite material in recent decades. 70% of the production of fiberglass is used to manufacture FRP. FRP has high hardness and is much lighter than steel. It is used as fuel tank and pipeline on jet aircraft, which can reduce the weight of the aircraft. The astronauts who landed on the moon carried miniature oxygen cylinders made of fiberglass. FRP is easy to process, does not rust or rot, and does not require paint. China has widely used fiberglass to manufacture various small boats, lifeboats, yachts, as well as the automobile manufacturing industry, saving a lot of steel. Due to the fact that fiberglass is a composite material with a wide range of performance adaptability, its market development prospects are very broad. According to relevant statistical data, there are about 40000 types of fiberglass products developed by countries around the world. Although each country has its own emphasis on development direction based on its own economic development situation, it has basically involved various industrial sectors. After more than 40 years of development, China's fiberglass industry has also achieved successful applications in various fields of the national economy and played an important role in economic construction. The main application areas of FRP are roughly summarized as follows:

1. Construction industry: cooling towers, fiberglass doors and windows, building structures, enclosure structures, indoor equipment and decorations, fiberglass flat panels, corrugated tiles, decorative panels, fiberglass cover plates, sanitary ware and integrated bathrooms, saunas, surfing bathrooms, construction templates, storage buildings, concrete templates, reinforcement materials, and solar energy utilization devices.

2. Chemical industry: corrosion-resistant pipelines, storage tanks and tanks, corrosion-resistant conveying pumps and their accessories, corrosion-resistant valves, grilles, ventilation facilities, as well as sewage and wastewater treatment equipment and its accessories, etc.

3. The automobile and railway transportation industry: automobile casings and other components, all plastic micro cars, body shells, doors, inner panels, main pillars, floors, bottom beams, bumpers, instrument screens of large passenger cars, small passenger and freight cars, as well as cabins and machine covers of fire tankers, refrigerated trucks, tractors, etc.

4. In terms of railway transportation, there are train window frames, roof bends, roof water tanks, toilet floors, luggage car doors, roof ventilators, refrigerated doors, water storage tanks, and certain railway communication facilities.

5. In terms of highway construction, there are traffic signs, isolation piers, marker posts, signboards, highway guardrails, etc., as well as the boat and water transportation industry.

6. Inland passenger and cargo ships, fishing boats, hovercraft, various yachts, racing boats, high-speed boats, lifeboats, traffic boats, as well as fiberglass buoy drums and mooring buoys, etc.

7. Electrical industry and communication engineering: including arc extinguishing equipment, cable protection tubes, generator stator coils and support rings and conical shells, insulation tubes, insulation rods, motor protection rings, high-voltage insulators, standard capacitor shells, motor cooling sleeves, generator wind deflectors and other strong current equipment; Electrical equipment such as distribution boxes and panels, insulated shafts, fiberglass covers, etc; Electronic engineering applications such as printed circuit boards, antennas, radar covers, etc.

With the development of science and technology, as well as the improvement of people's living standards, many civil fiberglass products have been developed in large quantities. For example, many urban sculptures, arts and crafts sculptures, fast food tables and chairs, motorcycle parts, fiberglass flower pots, safety helmets, high-end amusement equipment, and home appliance casings have been successfully applied in large quantities.
